My friend I’ve had since the 8th grade raises turkeys for meat every year. These birds fill her freezer, and those of local friends, and she graciously has sent me feathers that would otherwise simply be thrown away. Her husband harvested the Hunn, or gray partridge, and asked if I could use the feathers. “Absolutely.” He got the Hunn while he was out hunting with their oldest son. I love that their family has memories made that are now connected to this design.
